The “Mongolia Investment Forum: London 2026,” organized by Capital Markets Mongolia (CMM), was successfully held in London, United Kingdom, on September 15, 2026.

The Forum brought together more than 150 investors representing over 80 international organizations, representatives of professional capital market institutions, and leading organizations from Mongolia’s banking, finance, and technology sectors. Discussions focused on the development of Mongolia’s financial and capital markets, investment opportunities, and emerging developments in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence.
Mr. D. Munkhbat, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE), participated in the session “A New Era for Mongolia’s Securities Market.” During the session, he presented an overview of the current state of Mongolia’s capital market, its recent growth and development, emerging investment opportunities, and the policy priorities and strategic objectives aimed at supporting the market’s continued expansion.

Mr. Munkhbat also highlighted the Government of Mongolia’s ongoing reforms to strengthen the governance, efficiency, transparency, and public accountability of state-owned enterprises. In this context, he provided information on initiatives to broaden public ownership of state-owned companies through capital market transactions and to increase the role of the securities market in supporting Mongolia’s economic development.

During the Forum, Mr. Marius Dan, Chief Executive Officer responsible for Central Asia at international investment management firm Franklin Templeton, emphasized the importance of transforming state-owned enterprises into publicly owned companies, introducing professional management of state assets, and mobilizing capital through both domestic and international capital markets.
Drawing on Franklin Templeton’s experience in managing similar investment structures in Romania and Uzbekistan, Mr. Dan noted that such initiatives could support the development of long-term institutional investment in Mongolia, contribute to improving the governance and value of state-owned enterprises, and further strengthen the country’s capital market.
