"MONGOLIAN MINING COMMODITY EXCHANGE DAY" HAS BEEN ORGANIZED IN BEIJING, CHINA

The "Mongolian Stock Exchange" JSC, in collaboration with the Embassy of Mongolia in China, the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, and the Mongolian National Mining Association, successfully organized the "Mongolian Mining Products Exchange Day" event in Beijing, China, on May 27, 2024. The event aimed to promote the mining products exchange market to Chinese participants and facilitate the exchange of ideas.

The Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia, Mongolian Stock Exchange JSC, the Mongolian National Mining Association,  mining products sellers, namely "Erdenet Mining Corporation" SOE, "Energy Resources" LLC, "Tavantolgoi" JSC, "Darkhan Metallurgical Plant" LLC, representatives of commercial intermediary brokers namely "TDB Securities UTsK" LLC, "BDSec UTsK" JSC, "Ard Securities UTsK" LLC, "Mandal Capital Markets UTsK" LLC, "Ulzii & Co Capital UTsK" LLC, and "Apex Capital UTsK" LLC and more than 100 organizations that purchase mining products participated in the event. 

The event was officially opened by T.Badral, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the People's Republic of China, and D.Bayarsaikhan, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia. A presentation on the current situation of the mining industry and changes in the legal environment was delivered by A. Monkhbayasgalan, Chief Regulatory Officer of the "Mongolian Stock Exchange" JSC, and G. Erdenetuya, Executive Director of the Mongolian National Mining Association.

In addition, Zhou Zhitao, CEO of Jidong Development (HK) International Limited, representing the Chinese buyer, shared the advantages, opportunities, and experience of participating in Mongolian mining products trading through commodities exchange.

Since January 2023, the "Mongolian Stock Exchange JSC" has effectively initiated the trading of various minerals. As of May 23, 2024, a significant amount of coal, iron ore and concentrate, and copper concentrate had been traded, totaling 12.5 trillion MNT (equivalent to 3.6 billion U.S. dollars) through 546 trading sessions. This trading activity has resulted in selling companies earning an additional $1.06 trillion MNT (equivalent to 312 million U.S. dollars).
