On June 28, 2023, Mongolian Stock Exchange and Shanghai Stock Exchange signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Within the framework of the MoU, the parties agreed to explore possibilities of cooperation in respect of market promotion, joint in-depth cooperation on the new products and services and other mutually beneficial projects.

On August 16, 2023, Mr. Altai, CEO of Mongolian Stock Exchange JSC and Ms. Javkhlan, COO of MSE held an online meeting with Mr. Cai Jianchun, President of Shanghai Stock Exchange and Mr. Zhang Bin, Director of International Relations Department, and discussed about the further cooperation between the parties.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to explore possibility of launching ETF connectivity scheme and organize an event to promote the Mongolian capital markets to Shanghai investors in 2023.

The Shanghai Stock Exchange is one of the two main stock exchanges in China. It is ranked third in the world in terms of market capitalization (USD 6.5 trillion), fifth in terms of trading turnover (USD 13.3 trillion), and first in terms of IPO proceeds (USD 501.4 trillion).
